A great decorative option, wallpaper can offer a second lease life to any room of the house. If you prefer not to overload your decor but still want to give your room a little more style, using just one (or several strips) of wallpaper can do the trick. Wallpaper strips: a versatile decorating solution
Freshen up a storage cabinet and transform it in no time by covering the front with wallpaper. For a more unique touch, go for trompe l'oeil panelling. You can also draw attention to your furniture item by applying a one or several strips behind it.
Covering up a door
To make sure your door fits perfectly with the rest of the decor, you can cover it with strips of wallpaper. It's up to you to choose whether you want a similar pattern to the wall or something different.
Creating a headboard
Create a unique headboard by applying wallpaper strips all the way up to the ceiling. Choose between a pattern and a block colour, according to your tastes.
Setting apart a space
Wallpaper strips can also be used to separate a room into two distinct spaces – such as a sleeping area and a play area. This little trick will allow you to enjoy each area separately without losing any space.
Sprucing up your decor
If you want to freshen up the decor in rooms decorated in neutral colours, you can apply one or several strips wallpaper with coloured stripes, graphics or floral patterns. You might even want to consider a picture strip featuring cartoon characters! Wallpaper can also be used to to emphasise a nook in the room. If you're simply looking to add a bit of style to a room, say farewell to conventional paintings and start using wallpaper to create works of art!
Wallpaper strip sizes and features
Wallpaper strips are measured by:
- Length, ranging from 2.5 m to 3.3 m;
- and width, ranging from 50 cm to 70 cm.
The size of the strips will need to be chosen according to the type of furniture and the available surface. The quality of wallpaper strips can sometimes vary.
Depending on its type, the wallpaper may:
- Be washable;
- Have excellent light fastness;
- Be dropped or free matched;
- Be of variable quality (non-woven etc.);
- Be of variable weight, between 0.3 kg 0.9 kg (depending on thickness and type).
